Cooked from the old bread.
✔ 1 quart stale bread
✔ 3 eggs
✔ 1/2 cup sugar
✔ 1 cup raisins
✔ 1,5 pints milk
✔ 1 tsp. vanilla
1. Beat the eggs well, add the vanilla and mix.
2. Add the milk and sugar. Mix thoroughly.
3. Wet the bread and squeeze it. Mix in it a cup of raisins.
Beat the egg mixture thoroughly into this.
4. Place in the oven and bake for an hour. Serve with cream, brandy, or lemon sauce.
